Our Story


From humble beginnings, we began our first restaurant in Muswellbrook known as 'Phillippe’s Brasserie'. Established for 21 years, we were looking for a tree change and to downsize the restaurant, and so ‘Le Pruneau’ opened in Tamworth.


We spent a long time searching for the right venue and location for ‘Le Pruneau’, one that would reflect the food, lifestyle and culture of the restaurant. First located at 67 Denison Street, and now just around the corner at 83 Bridge St, we feel we have captured a touch of France.

In his 35 year career, Phillippe has opened La Goulue, Les Fleurs, Le Millionaire, teaches at the TAFE and conducts cheese courses.

We are always researching and learning more about French cuisine. We have travelled extensively overseas and throughout Australia to ensure the best quality of service and food is brought to your plate.
